How Do You Build Community with Your Team?

Leaders, how well do you know your team members? I am asking because I recently learned that someone I have known for over 2 years has an identical twin.

We are members of the same group and that group meets almost every week throughout the year. I was baffled because I would imagine that being a twin is a significant part of a person's identity and most likely has shaped how they relate and engage with others and how others have engaged with them. Being a twin may even influence someone's leadership style.
I shared that story to highlight the importance of creating specific and intentional opportunities for you and your team members to get to know each other and effectively build a sense of community.
Some effective ways to build community with your team include building in time during 1-1 meetings to discuss personal goals, personal hobbies, or professional development interests, completing leadership assessments and personality tests like Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), CliftonStrengths Assessment, DiSC Personality Test, etc. and discussing the results as a team, engaging in meaningful teambuilding activities, and supporting and advocating for learning and growth opportunities for your team members.
