February 18, 2025 - Embracing Authenticity: Taking Leaps of Faith with Evelyn Chumbow, Advocacy & Survivor Leadership Director of the Human Trafficking Legal Center
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Evelyn Chumbow for sharing her experience being a survivor of labor trafficking and providing an insightful, compassionate and advocacy-based perspective on human trafficking. Thank you for sharing what kept and keeps you going through experiences that seem impossible to survive, let alone thrive. Thank you for discussing your healing journey and providing advocacy-based resources about human trafficking. Thank you for your ground-breaking work to raise awareness and advocate for other survivors.

January 14, 2025 - Cultivating a Culture of Respect in The Workplace
I had an engaging and insightful discussion about respect during the "Cultivating a Culture of Respect in the Workplace" webinar on January 14. We explored how family, community, social and cultural identities, and cultural norms influence how one perceives respect and what constitutes respectful behavior.
One of the most interesting topics we explored is whether respect has to be earned or should be extended to all people to acknowledge their humanity. We discussed that your nationality, culture and religious or spiritual beliefs may impact your viewpoint regarding this matter.
Does respect need to be earned or do you extend it to all people as a basic human courtesy?

November 20, 2024 - Zephia Bryant, Founder & CEO of Bryant Educational Leadership Group
I have more gems to share from the "Embracing Authenticity: Taking Leaps of Faith" discussion with Zephia Bryant, Founder & CEO of Bryant Educational Leadership Group.
In this video, Zephia responds to the following questions: Who are you? Where did you grow up/hometown? Who are your people? (i.e. Who are your family members?/What is your family ancestry?)
Bryant states, "Everybody has a tapestry that when we weave that tapestry together it is the fullness of who it is we are."
Having a good understanding of what informs who you are and what motivates you is key in being authentic and aligning your life with your core values.
When I work with leaders, we start by engaging in discussions and complete personal storytelling activities that explore their social/cultural identities, core values and worldview.

November 12, 2024 - Kalela Williams, author of Tangleroot and Founder of Black History Maven
I'm still reflecting on the affirmations and life lessons that were shared during the first Embracing Authenticity: Taking Leaps of Faith discussion featuring Kalela Williams, author of TANGLEROOT and founder of Black History Maven.
We learned that Kalela's literary influences are Toni Morrison, Margaret Walker, Louise Erdrich, Angie Thomas ("The Hate U Give") , and even V.C. Andrews ("Flowers in the Attic"). Authenticity, resilience, self-belief, courage and faith were key to Kalela writing and publishing TANGLEROOT. Her work is rooted in history and telling the stories of people that are not often told. She persisted despite challenges and setbacks, one setback taking over 12 years to resolve. She stated, "Many times I felt like "I can't do this! I can't do this!", I can't do this!, but I did it!"

April 2, 2025 - Don't Lose Your "Muchness": Embracing Authenticity to Thrive
When I work with clients, a common challenge they encounter is how to embrace their authentic selves and live their values without sacrificing their ability to be successful in their job or professional field. They share that they often feel like they have to downplay their professional expertise, ideas, or personal qualities in order to be accepted or advance in their profession.
The resulting impact of downplaying (shrinking) themselves creates the opposite of their desired goal; they feel less empowered, less focused, less in alignment and overall less content. I call it losing your "muchness."
Join me on April 2 for an interactive webinar, "Don't Lose Your "Muchness": Embracing Authenticity to Thrive" to engage in discussion and activities designed to help you identify the benefits and strengths of embracing your authentic self, identify your core values and leverage them to thrive personally and professionally.
